I am Ezgi, a Clinical Psychologist, a psychodramatist and a Trauma-Informed Yoga instructor.
One of the most important experiences for me in the program was practicing forms such a mindful way that I would always be aware of my body. I able to reflect the dialog that I learn to speak with my body into my daily life.
There is comprehensive knowledge in the program that you are going to learn, unlike other yoga programs.
I was really impressed by this program in which the field of trauma was examined in such detail.
Then, practices and your perspective are added to this knowledge. When dear Ece’s compassionate approach is added into, it becomes even more enjoyable.
Since I am a therapist, I can apply a lot of body practices and breathing exercises in my sessions. In my daily life, I can practice breathing even while driving.
I recommend this training because healing starts with you first. When you increase your connection with yourself, you can exist in a group as you are. You learn to present yourself easily and confidently and establish relationships.

I am Behlül, I am a physiotherapist. Apart from my profession in physiotherapy, I work in many fields related to art and sports.
Throughout my practice, I shaped my patients’ physiotherapy processes with nervous system-based treatment approaches and neurodevelopmental yoga. During and after the trauma-informed yoga training program, I feel that I gained a new perspective of approaching people that I had difficulty communicate, from a different frame.
I was really impressed by this program in which the field of trauma was examined in such detail.
The demand for the online support group, which I started with a peer from the program at the end of the first year of the great earthquake in Turkey, exceeded hundreds of numbers and the SUPPORT we provided in this field created great changes in people. This makes me so happy.
Trauma-informed yoga improved me a lot in my career as it offered a new perspective in terms of approach, communication and rehabilitation to my clients. I would like to thank our teacher Ece and TIY team for this training.

I am Çiğdem. I am a psychologist (PhDc), psychotherapistand a part-time lecturer. My field of work is mostly on mass and individual trauma and post-traumatic stress disorders.
What introduced me to Trauma-Informed Yoga was the holistic and multidisciplinary approach of Bessel van der Kolk, a world-renowned trauma researcher in his field. I am lucky that I had a instructor like Ece, who is experienced, knowledgeable and explains yoga with an evidence-based scientific approach that follows the current literature. The fact that she studied trauma from van der Kolk, that she is a yoga instructor and experienced in trauma field and that she has a good command of the literature and scientific knowledge are among the most important reasons why I chose the training and trusted her.
In addition to theoretical and practical knowledge, the relationship and communication she establishes with us, the language she uses, and her ability to convey her knowledge and experience are very satisfying, sincere and genuine.
I wanted to use Trauma-Informed Yoga in body-focused sessions and add it to my own practice. The program focuses on the mind-body relationship, healing the traces of trauma on the body and increasing spiritual well-being and resilience through the body.
If we consider it in terms of psychological interventions, training has contributed more than I expected such as the discovery and reconstruction of boundaries, trust, desire to explore, flexibility and awareness.
First of all, I witness and felt the contribution of my own experiences and practices to me. Then, I observed how, seemingly small but very important touches that I made with my clients are healing in the session.
Slowing down time, establishing a closer relationship with ourselvesand our body, observing ourselves, sometimes even remembering that we exist and breathe, while doing all these, researching and discovering our limits, expanding with patience and compassion, and sometimes even narrowing it down if necessary, staying within yourself and your needs, against situations that are beyond our control. increasing both strength and flexibility and many more.
Isn’t it amazing when you think about being able to do all of these with our mind and body on the mat?!
I would wholeheartedly recommend to incorporate Trauma-Informed Yoga into your life and professional practice. Receiving this training, which contributes greatly to physical as well as spiritual well-being, is very valuable for both yourself and the people you touch.

I am Aylin, I am a psychologist specializing on trauma and psychotherapy.
I wanted to share my heartfelt recommendation for the Trauma-Informed Yoga Teachers Training Certification Program—a truly transformative experience that has left a profound impact on me both personally and professionally.
What truly sets this program apart is its inclusive approach and unwavering support for professionals from all walks of life. I was particularly drawn to its emphasis on understanding how our bodies naturally respond to adversity, shedding light on the role of the nervous system. Armed with this knowledge, I've been able to integrate trauma-informed principles into my practice, fostering deeper connections with my clients and groups that I worked with.
I’ve had the privilege of participating in this program, and I’m excited to share some of the key highlights with you.
Let me took you back to one unforgettable moment during our retreat. Picture this: a shanga where laughter mingled with tears, and words flowed freely during a meditation practice. In this shared space, something magical happened—we realized the deep connection between our emotions and the words we shared. It was a beautiful reminder of our innate unity and a poignant example of the transformative power of collective vulnerability.
The impact of the program extends far beyond the therapy room or a yoga studio—it has profoundly enriched both my personal and professional life. Through its holistic approach, I’ve gained a deeper appreciation for the intricate interplay between individual and group behaviors and the role of the nervous system in shaping our responses. This newfound understanding has been invaluable in navigating various settings, from corporate environments to intimate therapy sessions.
One standout feature of the program is its emphasis on community and mutual support. Learning and growing alongside fellow practitioners has been an enriching experience, fostering a sense of camaraderie and belonging that’s hard to find elsewhere. Together, we’ve delved into uncharted territory, sharing insights and supporting each other along the way.
To everyone seeking a holistic approach to trauma-informed care, I wholeheartedly recommend the Trauma-Informed Yoga Teachers Training Certification Program. It’s more than just a program; it’s a transformative journey filled with learning, growth, and the joy of shared experiences under the guidance of Ece and our supportive instructors. Every day, I rediscover the enrichment brought by Ece, the host of the program, and the supportive instructors Ela and Görkem. Yes, the program lasts for 200 hours, but the learnings and observations afterward are limitless in our lives. I’m confident that everyone embarking on this adventure will not only emerge as a skilled practitioner but also as a compassionate supporter on the healing journey.
With warm regards,
Aylin Dayoglu
I am Ezgi, I am a physiotherapist.Trauma Informed Yoga program was truly transformative. This training changed my perspective and relationship to my own story and then to the families and children I counseled as a physiotherapist.
Ece is not only an expert who shares knowledge, but in my experience, she is a great companion who always takes people’s uniqueness into consideration.
While she generously offers her knowledge and life experience, it is always a great support for you to be able to present this in your own time and in your own style.
It is very exciting to imagine the cross-country community that this program will bring together. I believe people whom interested in trauma-informed yoga program will help to make difference. First for ourselves and then for the world… Because the future is trauma informed…

I am Dilara, I am a psychological counselor. I work with couples and adults. I've been training to work with trauma for a while now. This training provided me with the most up-to-date information I have learned about the human mind and body.
This training shows you that while practicing yoga or teaching yoga, there is something that can be done for every single person to support them without going into the diagnosis, disorders or labels.
At the beginning of the program it was very pleasing to heard that it was not an obstacle that I had a surgical history: as a person who has limitations in some areas of my life, I needed an area where this would not be a problem.
We are in a time where, it feels like the magnificent physiques of yogis consist of the difficult forms they perform when you think yoga especially in the content shared on social media lately.
In this training, you learn that yoga is a tool that helps people learn to make choices, recognize their own limits, and have a safe body where their breath can flow in its own flow, rather than doing a form by force by holding their breath.
It is enough for a yoga teacher to know the scope of practice to accompany people: without having a mission to heal or act like a mental health expert. This training distinguis the scope of practice very well.
I genuinely recommend it, especially to people in the mental health field, because I think there are many people working in this field who do not know the nervous system as much.
Learning all these tools has brought my approach to my clients and the way I work to a much different point. I have heard from the people I work with that it is really good for them to slow down in the hustle and bustle of life and to create some time for themselves.
When I worked with my own mother, it was a great to witness after 2-3 sessions that she was able to stay in her own body comfortably and find a form that she doesn’t need to hold her breath. She hadn’tworried whether she did the right thing or the wrong thing.
Although I am familiar with some concepts since I am in the field of mental health, the training contains information that will help better understand human nature even for people who are not in this field.
Ece is someone who able to explains the entire complex process in the most understandable way. Her way of teaching makes people feel included in the training. Her continuity to learning in order to convey the knowledge in its most up-to-date form, her tone of voice, and her narration make content incredibly easy and enjoyable to listen to the training.
The whole process is very well planned and you feel the trust of a teacher who really knows what to do and how to do it. One of the things that impresses me is sharing resources outside of class for people who want to study more on a subject.

I'm Gözde, a psychotherapist. I provide individual therapy for adults and couple therapy. The reason I attended the Trauma-Informed Yoga teacher training was to make sure that I could touch every aspect of trauma during a therapy process and hear my clients more comprehensively.
Of course, even though I am a therapist, I have to say that this training has added a lot to me personally and broadened my horizons as a person. It is not possible for me to consider anything in the training content as less important, but understanding the nervous system in particular was like finding the meaning of life.
Lead instructor Ece does her best to ensure that the space holds is safe, and I think that’s why there is something about this program that makes you feel safe. You may also find that everyone who attends this training can speak a common language at some point, and sometimes you can only understand each other through your eyes.
It is a valuable space to establish trauma-informed friendships, the sangha is still a part of my life and make me feel good.
In addition to all the asana practices, nervous system contents and meditations, one of the most comfortable and enjoyable parts was the free movement exercises that Ece interspersed. I think the variation of different movement practices somehow touched everyone who was there.
Professionally and personally, I have definitely started to look at myself, those around me, and the nervous system, emotions, and behaviors of my clients differently. As someone who has received another specialist training before, I can definitely say that this training is much more comprehensive and inclusive. I think you can get this training just to live a better quality of life.

I am Esra, I work as an specialist clinical psychologist.
I added yoga philosophy and practices to my life thanks to this training.
I integrate trauma informed yoga into my sessions with my clients, especially as a mental health specialist.
As someone who had never done yoga before and had only a passing knowledge about yoga, I realized that there was no need for a vigorous practice to make yoga a part of life. I became more sensitive my needas and I could do the movements and asanas by connecting with my inner intuition. If you, like me, do not have detailed knowledge about yoga, you can create a comprehensive foundation with this training.

I am Elif, a Nutrition Specialist. I received an undergraduate degree in terms of nourishing the body, and I was introduced to yoga in terms of nourishing the soul. Ece showed us the impact of spoken language once again. Word choices should be considered with care before used whether they have a history of trauma or not.
Learning the human centered language, trauma informed approach used in this training and many wrongs that are known as true made the training unique for me.
I learned the healing power of yoga from three different instructors who are experts in their fields. Seeing the effect of yoga on the body with both scientific and spiritual approaches was among the best experiences I have had.
First of all, improving my mindfulness with this training was the most crucial point for me. I experienced a lot of awareness about my body, my emotions, my senses, and my nervous system. I learned that yoga is not just on the mat, but we can actually progress with this awareness in our daily lives.
In fact, I learned that the nervous system likes diversity in movement, so we can have a more regulated nervous system and I applied this to my life. I discovered the literal meaning of meditation and that meditative times can be created even in daily errands .
The most prominent features of this training for me are the healing of yoga, benefiting from the approaches and knowledge of Ece and my two valuable teachers. Also working with experts in their field, and the fact that it is a training based on science.

I am Burcin and I am a journalist and trauma informed yoga instructor. I have been interested in yoga for a long time and have had the opportunity to experience many types of yoga.
When I moved from Belgium to Germany, I sought education with the motivation to develop my own personal practice and learn yoga in more detail.
Even though I had never heard of Trauma-Informed Yoga before, I was already convinced for the training during our pre meeting with dear Ece Türkmut Dere.
I can say that the most transformative aspect of the program for me was the Trauma-Informed language and attitude.
It has also brought a more gentle and understanding perspective to my own body and yoga. I observe the reflections of this both on the yoga mat and in daily life practices.
Ece Türkmut Dere not only enabled me to complete the training with her expertise, patience, and support during and after the training, but also provided mentoring support to my own yoga teaching journey in Cologne, Germany.
Many thanks for your guidance.

I'm Betul. I am a Clinical Psychologist who works with adults focusing on trauma. My paths crossed with Trauma-Informed Yoga after I realized my need to establish a closer relationship with my body and give myself more space.
I learned from the training with the knowledge and experience of the teachers that I have the ability to accompany my body with compassion on this journey.
It was very valuable that the program was inclusive and holding a very safe space, recognition and awareness.
The retreat experience we spent with our peers within the scope of the program was an unforgettable experience for me. Trauma-informed yoga has become a powerful resource for regulating myself in my personal life as well as a resource I use in my professional life.
I recommend this program to individuals who want to know their own space, realize their limits, and seek regulation.
